How do I configure my own, unlocked PAP2 with ViaTalk?

Connect the PAP2 to an available Ethernet port on your network router. Plug a standard, touch-tone phone into the Phone 1 port of the adapter. Then, connect the power supply to an available outlet. When the power light is solid, grab a pen and paper and perform the following steps:

1.) Press **** on the phone that is plugged into the phone adapter. Once you hear a voice say, “Configuration Menu,” dial 110#. A voice will read you the IP address of the adapter. Write this IP address down.

2.) Open up a web browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, etc) on your computer. Type the IP address from Step 1 into the address bar and press Enter. The Linksys administrative screen should load.

3.) At the top-right of the page, click the link labeled “ADMIN LOGIN”. You may be asked for a username and password.

username - admin
password - youradminpassword

4.) The page will reload. Once it does, click LINE 1 at the top of the screen. Once the page loads, you will see the configuration fields.

5.) Open another browser window and log into your ViaTalk Control Panel. Click the "Softphone Configuration" icon to find your unique credentials. Then, copy/paste that information into the following fields:

Proxy:

Display Name:

Username:

Password:

DTMF Tx Method: Auto

6.) Submit the changes using the button at the bottom of the screen.

The adapter will then cycle and the Line 1 light will light up once it has successfully registered with our network. You should now have dial tone on your phone and may begin making calls!
